Baby you can drive my car

Little Missy is now interested in driving or at driving. Whenever we get in the car, she always tells her Daddy where to go, or which way to turn (left, right or straight). Daddy and I have so much fun when she does this, because we're amazed at how she remembers the directions to places we regularly go to... AND voice them out.

Today, we headed to Market! Market. We had a quick lunch at Pancake House. It's been quite some time that we've last eaten there, I think way back when I was pregnant. I was surprised that they now have a menu for kids.


Being the kid that she was, she was intrigued by the multitude of colors (m&m's) so this is what she ordered.

I must say, I missed their pancakes. She only finished 1 piece so Daddy and ate a piece each too.

After lunch, Daddy was supposed to do some transactions in BDO but the line was overwhelming! We forgot that most people had their paychecks that day too. Since little Missy already saw what was inevitable, we let her have her way this time.

After this experience, Daddy and I both agreed, no driving for minors still! :)

We love Jazz Shoppe

Every time we go out and I would know there's a chance that my little Missy will run around, I use these skirt leggings on her. I love it because it's a little thicker than stretch leggings so it protects her knees and legs more. I also think they're so stylish, being a skirt and leggings at the same time.

She even tripped once on uneven concrete and if it wasn't for those leggings, I'm sure she had a huge scrape on both her knees. I am so thankful for these.

Since there were some moms who sent me messages over facebook as to where I bought them, I contacted my friend and seller if she'd be interested in giving away some of her items. She was very happy about it, since she can also thank her loyal patrons in a way.

Overcoming a ladybug

Little Missy didn't know if she'd be happy or scared. The chocolate was a ladybug chocolate.

She played with it until the next day (thankfully it didn't melt) because she insisted it was a toy bug. She didn't believe it was chocolate until I actually took a bite.

Monday, our family Holiday.

Since it's a holiday, Daddy decided to have another out-of-house bonding time. This time, we went to Boni High Street (BHS) and spent some time at Starbucks (yes! another mint tea). Then we decided to have some doughnuts at Krispy Kreme so while walking to the other side, Little Missy got to stroll big-time! She also found those curvy green tubes intriguing and kept wondering who was talking to her from the other end and how sound was able to come out of it.

Before getting our doughnuts, we stopped by Hobbes and Landes. I should change it's name... we will now call it Little Missy's Heaven. We've brought her to a toy store before, but here, since they were allowed to play with lots of toys, she was really excited! She was first interested in the Architecto blocks, then headed off to the play area. She was also very curios about the miniature displays and the circus.









After an hour of being side-tracked, we finally got our doughnut. Daddy had a little surprise for the little one. She had a Halloween pumpkin doughnut! I didn't get to take a pic before she devoured it so credits to the Krispy Kreme website for the photo below.

Family Day Sunday - Dad's Buffet, Starbucks and a Ferrari 10/24

Our Sunday started with a scheduled business lunch. Daddy was to meet some of his friends at Kamayan/Dad's/Saisaki for a lunch buffet (yes! woohoo). On the way, this is what caught hubby's attention - A FERRARI! I mean, come on, there isn't even 1,000 of those here in the PH, I think! :) I hurriedly got the cam but still took pretty poor shots since it went up the Skyway and we didn't. And, I didn't like the driver. Hubby said the driver of the Ferrari made a dirty finger to a nearby Evo... that's why it was going fast. It wanted to show the Evo that he was driving a Ferrari before he went up the ramp. Oh well... boys!

When we got the Megamall Bldg A, we went straight to Kamayan/Dad's/Saisaki. I've always loved the Triple V line because of their free stuffed toys. This time it was a free bear for every order of drink (iced tea, lemonade, juice drinks or shakes). Little Missy got 5 free (one for her drink, Dad's, mine, Ninang Mel's and Daddy's friend gave her his too).




They also had my new favorite - chocolate fountain. Yummmm! Love it with pineapples and marshmallows.


After our super hearty lunch, we stayed a while at Starbucks. Here I found my other true love... Mint Tea. Thanks Ninang Mel for introducing this. Aside from my nose and throat feeling better (colds), it also helped digest all that food. And who says kids can't enjoy Starbucks... 2 mint teas and a sippy please (Her own formula of course)!




It was fun, fun, fun. I'm glad we had this family time. Since tomorrow's a holiday, I think we're going out again. No plans yet so we'll see where we'll go, maybe I can have another mint tea :) Hope you enjoyed your weekend!

The Velveteen Rabbit - It is loving that makes it real

We just finished watching The Velveteen Rabbit. I must admit, the story lacks the frills and excitement that most animations have but I must say, I love this movie. This is one that I'll keep and watch over and over with my little girl.


The story is about a young boy, Toby Morgan, who was left with his grandmother for the Christmas Holiday. Since his mother died, his father absorbed himself with work to distance himself. The less time he spent with Toby, the less pain he felt, or so he thought.

While wandering about in his grandmother's house, Toby stumbled upon the attic and found a gift box addressed to him. It was a velveteen rabbit, a forgotten gift, from his mother Sarah. In his loneliness, he imagined a whole new world of make-believe with his Rabbit and some other old friends, Swan and Horse.

With a strict grandmother, a busy father, a lonely boy who only wishes that his father spends Christmas with him, and a rabbit who wishes to be real, the plot is very predictable. Maybe it's how the story unfolds or the switches between animation and reality, whatever it was, I think my little 2 year old understood the story. It wasn't just watching cartoons for her, she was actually trying to follow the story.

Missing the BPO industry

It will be 3 years on Nov. 22 when I've been off work. It is during these times of the night that I somehow miss working in the outsourcing industry. Why somehow? Because I do not regret the decision I made.

In my 5 years of working for the BPO industry, I've learned a lot of things. Most importantly is dealing with clients. I used to take the people who answer the phones for granted but being in their shoes made me feel different about the whole being irate attitude. Although being on the receiving end also taught me how to handle my own complaints when I needed to.

Anyway, during the last year of my employment, I was more into the behind-the-scenes activity. Being assigned different projects made me delve into the deeper aspects of the business. I understood why it was and still is a good investment when outsourcing to the Philippines.

Also, I became more aware of activities within the country that promote this industry. There were organizations like the CCAP and the BPAP who were on top of everything new in the industry. There would be summits and conventions like the International Outsourcing Summit. My appreciation for this industry is very different from what I thought of back in 2003. It wasn't just a job, it was a career.

Now, why am I into all this? Being a part of this industry even for just a short span of time made me realize how it has helped me. If I didn't go into this kind of work, I wouldn't have learned a lot of things, like US geography for instance, or how to check for worldwide weather, or even how insurance works and how to maximize it. Also, being in this generation, it taught me that in running a business, you don't have to be a know-it-all. You can always outsource, like payroll and accounting for starters.

Maybe when I or my little Missy decide to start building our own conglomerate, there are more things to learn. This internet thing makes the game a little bit different each day. Even putting up a website isn't as simple anymore. A lot of techniques are needed like a good Search Profile Index service. I'm sure I have lots and lots to learn, as I've gathered from just blogging so I'm looking forward to more years ahead.

Ah.. I may miss the BPO industry but maybe, just maybe... I'm moving into a whole new world this time.
