Chic in Black Monday 3

Welcome to Chic in Black Monday. My entry for this week is something I've always wished for, a bob cut! I have always wanted to try and sport a short and sleek hairstyle, especially on shiny, black hair.

I like it tousled and short like this: (though in sleek black, and I love the sunglasses and scarf in black too!)

Google celebrates Earth Day

Happy Earth Day! I just love Google's art logo for today. I couldn't save it as is because it was animated so I had to do a print screen instead.

Aside from Earth day, which is celebrated every April 22nd (but others celebrate it every March 20th), it is also Good Friday. We're planning to stay indoors and spend time with the family. We will probably end up watching some DVDs with Little Missy, or some cartoons on cable that have new episodes for Earth Day.


Let's see what happens but for now, I wish you a blessed Good Friday and a Happy Earth day. Any plans for today with your family?

Chic in Black Monday 2

It's Chic In Black Monday again and my entry for this week is this very Chic bag from Aldo. I don't own one yet but it is on top of my wish list :)

I love, love, love it especially the bow accent and the gold chains on the handles. I hope I can save up enough to finally but it and get lucky if a relative or friend comes home from the US so I wouldn't have to pay a lot (or any at all) for overseas shipping. Happy Birthday Yoya Ina

Happy, happy birthday to my Aunt (and Godmother for both my Christening and Wedding) Viña!! Little Missy calls her Yoya Ina or Ta Vin so please pardon the title.

Thank you so much for sending over some of the yummy spaghetti (and the warning regarding the quick-cook noodles), the Pizza slices, Little Missy's mango that I forgot to pick up from your house, and the pink and green stik-o.

Aside from the food, thank you for being our second mom. Walang pinsan at kapatid ko na di nagdaan sa kamay mo nang nagkasakit. Maraming, maraming salamat sa iyong pag-aruga. Mahal na mahal ka namin!

Chic in Black Monday

A couple of months ago Mommy Rubz, the founder of PMC asked if somebody would like to continue or start her meme again. The color theme was Black and it was originally scheduled to run every Monday.

At first I was a little iffy about it being on a Monday. Who wants to start their week with something as somber as black? But then after a couple of discussions in our group, I got an idea that since BLACK is almost always used for formal affairs, it is actually seen as something formal, something chic. Most fab things come in black anyway, right? I know, my tots/thoughts exactly!

So I finally made up my mind that it can be done. Since there is always something "chic" in black, then... (drum roll please) I present CIB Monday -


So here is how it works.

1. Every Monday, post a picture of anything black that you think is "Chic". It may be your own photo or something "borrowed" from the internet as long as you CITE the source. I always promote giving courtesy and respect to where and whom it is due.
2. You can include a short write-up or not about the photo. It's all up to you.
3. Link up your Chic in Black post URL (not your main blog URL please)
   
4. Make sure you include the badge somewhere in your post (or even in your sidebar if you want to show that you are a proud participant, thank you very much :))
5. Visit the other entries and make sure to leave a comment so the blog owner will know you dropped by. Some owners allow links on their comments (mine does!) so you can use it to link back to your own entry. Try to visit as many as you can, if not all, so others will visit you back.
6. Enjoy all the little (or not) BLACK things in life that we all think is Chic.

^^I bought this shoe when I had to attend a wedding last January 29th. I bought it in minutes, literally. Daddy dropped me off at the door nearest to the Department Store around 8:50pm (almost all shops were closed). The guard even told me I couldn't go in anymore. I just told him I'm picking up someone, LOL. Then I ran to the Department Store and asked for assistance right away as to the lowest heeled, open black shoe with my size. In 2 minutes they got me 3 pairs, I chose 2 and they ran for my size (I think they also wanted to go home already too). In 2 minutes they were back, I tried it on, chose 1 and paid. I was out of there and in the car by 8:57pm.

Won't fool a fool

I know I was thinking of ways on how to try and "fool" everyone today but I don't feel like it anymore.

Last night my brother was rushed to the ER because of severe pain in his abdomen. Just today my mom was called to her mom's house because my grandmother (who's 87) was having a hard time moving. She was having pain in on her hips and back again probably because of the same pinched nerve that was treated a couple of months ago. I hope she'll be okay and we'll try to drop by her house tomorrow.

What is a pinched nerve? Here's what I found online courtesy of SpineUniverse.com:

A persistent ache in the lower back. Shooting pains down the legs. Muscles so tight you can't even stand up straight. For the more than 65 million Americans who suffer from low back pain every year, the symptoms come in different forms, but the problem is frequently the same: a nerve root near the spine is irritated. "It's actually quite simple," said Robert F. Heary, MD, Neurosurgery Today Spine Editor and a neurosurgeon in New Jersey. "In about 90 percent of all low back pain cases, a nerve that travels from the spinal cord through the bones of the spine gets pinched or irritated, the muscles tense up and the patient experiences low back pain. The solution depends on why the nerve is irritated in the first place."

My mom thinks it may be age that's getting in the way of her complete recovery. I hope not, I hope this new set of medications work and then she'll be back to her old self again really soon.

It's April! (and Pink Friday #4)

It's April! I can't believe the first quarter of the year is over. Time really flies so fast when you're having fun and won't you be having so much fun if you have a perfect little princess too like me?

Anyway, I'm so looking forward to April because it seems to be the month with a lot of birthdays in my family which means food, food, food. Then there's also Easter to look forward to. I'm pretty sure this year my little girl can hunt for eggs on her own. She'll be able to enjoy it as much as the other kids. I can't wait to plan our itinerary for Easter.

To start off the month, we'll be attending the PMC Grand EB on Sunday. PMC is a group of Filipina mommy bloggers from all over the world. I've been part of the group for a couple of months now and I can say it's one of the best things that have happened to me online. These mommies help out in anything and everything, from technical blogging stuff, prayers for the family to money-making tips. Since the moms are from all over the world, the group is active and alive 24/7.

On Sunday, the mommies from Manila (and one from Bacolod who booked a trip just to attend a seminar and the EB) will finally meet. We will be sharing a scrumptious lunch and merienda at Kamayan. Since we will be going there directly after hearing mass, Daddy and little Missy will probably be with me, although they're ok to sit in a different table so I can spend some time with my mommy friends.

In this light, my pink entry for this week is my daughter's sippy. This was taken after we also had buffet lunch at Dad's a couple of month's back. We decided to transfer to Starbucks after our lunch because Daddy had to meet someone for work. My sister and I went to have tea and of course, milk for my little Missy in her pink sippy.
